South Africa's beloved singer Lira is back with a special one-woman show on April 18th at the Lyric Theater. "It's been 6 years since I've performed here," she says. "I love the intimacy it offers."
After a stroke took away her speech, reading, and writing abilities, Lira spent almost four years recovering. Now she's ready to return with "Still Here" - a deeply personal show about resilience and triumph.
"I'm telling my story through music and movement. It'll be entertaining, powerful, and healing," she explains. The stroke affected her rhythm too, but now she moves freely and confidently again. She'll perform in English, Zulu, and Sotho like fans remember.
This isn't just a concert - it's about second chances and music's healing power. "No matter what you face, you can come out stronger," Lira says. "If you have life and breath, you can still live happily with purpose!"
She'll also share new music from her recovery period. "Recovery is slow, but I'm finally ready to share some new songs."
Catch Lira's "Still Here" celebration at The Lyric Theater in Gold Reef City on April 18th, 2026 at 7:30pm. Tickets start at R375 through Webtickets.
